GovTrack does this quite well. They list every congressional roll call vote, based on the “actual” vote on Capitol Hill. But for Senate votes, Wyoming gets the same number of senators as California, despite having less than 1/60 the population. So GovTrack also lists the breakdown by the portion of the nation’s population that those senators represent.

Here’s an example from just 24 hours ago. Sorting by newest to oldest, GovTrack lists the most recent Senate vote as this one just yesterday afternoon, confirming Joe’s nomination of a woman named Margaret Taylor to serve as Legal Adviser at the State Department: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/118-2024/s246

The “actual” Senate vote was 50-44, with six senators abstaining. Excluding the abstainers, that means the final vote was 53% to 47%. But GovTrack also notes that the yes-vote senators comprised 60% of the country by population.

This is less relevant at the moment, when Democrats control the Senate. But particularly when Republicans controlled the Senate from 2015 to 2020, there were a TON of votes that received majority approval in the Senate despite having a minority of the actual population behind it. But McConnell would put legislation on the floor all the time that would pass because the two senators from Montana (or wherever) would cancel out the two senators from New York.

I found GovTrack’s info particularly helpful during those years. I think many shareholders would find similar info helpful on KMikeyM now.
