Show Diffs Between Plans

It would be very helpful to have a way to see on a single screen what things are set differently between two plans. Ideally, this would include all possible sorts of differences: milestones, accounts, income, expenses, settings, etc.

This would be very helpful to double check that the only differences between plans are intentional. That way, when you’re maintaining a few different plans and make changes to one, you can double check that you made the same changes to all of them.

It would also be helpful for when you make an alternate plan and come back a few months later and can’t remember exactly what you changed.

This would really help. When I revisit plans later I can’t recall exactly what I changed. Unfortunately, I end up deleting plans due to that. So this diff would make having multiple plans very powerful.

Yes! While the “Compare” and “What If” features are both very useful, a more comprehensive Diff could really help. As I’ve learned to use more and more of the finer subtle features in PL, it becomes more and more difficult to track down the specific root cause for differences in results.

I have one major “base plan” and then several offshoots for various scenarios and strategies. All of them started from a copy of my base plan at some particular moment. And each time I update my base plan, I try to go in and manually apply the same change to all the appropriate offshoot plans. But that gets both tedious and error prone.

I would think that this kind of ability to do an exhaustive “diff” would prove useful internally for debugging and tech support…
