Currently the Plugin API can only be run from the browser. Exposing a typical REST HTTP API would allow for much more powerful third party plugins.
+1 would give a better opportunity for external 3rd party plugin builders
Upvoting this - not just for 3rd party plugins, but also because I’m finding it tricky to automate updates from a google sheet across browser tabs (tried browser userscripts and also ChromeDriver.) A direct API call would greatly simplify that automation task.
Also upvoting this. I have other finance tools that I use and would love to automate updating things like balances, expenses, and assets using a tool of my choosing and an rest style interface.
