Should not get deadlift waves/pyramids (1.13.9)

Waves and pyramids are only appropriate for squat and bench, not deadlift. Seems to only affect iOS and it’s probably very rare.

Waves will emerge if you have incomplete recovery after a hard set of say 8 reps. Then you get stopped early on say rep #3. That gives you a bit of rest and your next set you get the “Again” command for several reps. Now you’re back up to maybe 7 reps. Rinse and repeat and you’ve got a wave.

If your body isn’t working like that on that particular day, there’s no wave and you get something else.

Oh my fault, I think waves are 6-4-7-3-8-2 what I sometimes see without Velos-ID, so planned before the app know anything. I have little waves with Velos-ID mostly for squat.

Yes, that’s a wave. So you do your first set and reach your stop at the 6th rep. You rest for 3 minutes and only partially recover in that time. Next set you get stopped on the 4th rep. You rest another 3 minutes and recover better this time. Now you get stopped on the 7th rep. But that was a little more work so your recovery is likely to be incomplete after 3 minutes. And so on. That’s how the wave can emerge organically. The preprogrammed wave just tries to anticipate this cycle.
