Add Strength Training Time from Apple Health

Strength Training Time is not imported from Apple Health. It is especially important as the effects of this kind of exercise are usually not properly expressed in activity metrics and are undervalued.

Hi Tomáš, the current Apple Health integration will record workouts and their duration, and have the activity type listed (though there is no metric for tracking duration of strength training as opposed to other activities). Is this what you’re requesting, to have a specific metric for duration of strength training in addition to total workout duration?

Hi. Hmm. I just do not see the strength metric in my list at all: https://share.cleanshot.com/N0s19tDL5f61kNvZZ4DJ

Hi Tomáš, it appears that the term “Functional Strength Training”, for example, is a tag that’s added to a workout metric called “Activity Type” in the Apple Health Workout form. That should appear in your Apple Health Workout form history.

There are a few things to mention here:

    • You may view insights for “Duration” by searching for that term
    • However, this will not filter for strength workouts specifically, but include all types of workouts. Supporting this type of filtering is something we plan to implement some time in the future. It’s good to know this is important to you, because feedback like this informs our priorities.

Hopefully this helps, please let us know if there is anything additional we can help you with. We apologize for the late reply.
