This would be awesome. I mean the tv app on the Apple TV sends pop up notifications. I think other apps should take advantage of this.

    Interesting…

Do we mean Apple TV os level notification?

Personally I’d just love to know while watching a stream or vod when someone is live. In that case it’s a custom, app specific notification.

For a OS level notification personally I’d rather not have more distractions. I already have the iPad and I guess most of you have smartphones that handle these already with the official app right?

There’s enough votes and its ambiguous, so my vote would go for a in-app notification , so I can catch up a streamer going live if I was bored and watching a vod or some other random stream. (And that would be fantastic because the official app on my iPad is next to useless and randomly does not notify me even if I clearly set those options on the website.)

    +1 on in-app notifications being sufficient. I personally don’t need OS-level notifs.

Adding to this, if the notifications are selectable and take you to that stream, even better. But just a nice-to-have.

Also, the delay enforced on third party twitch apps means when I get a push notification from the official twitch app, I often can’t watch the newly live stream on Twitchy for another 15+ seconds. It’d be cool if the Twitchy live notifications were based on the availability of the stream in-app vs being based off of official live notifications from the API. Just a thought though.
