"Continue Watching" Playlist

With the implementation of the saved VOD positions, a “Continue Watching” playlist could help easily find VODs that have been started to watch from the video/VOD feed.

    YES!

Come to think of it this may alleviate the friction I had with visting streamer’s vods ..

Such a list would reduce the navigation going in and out of streamer’s channels.

I typically have a few vods from multiple streamers I’m cathing on..

The question is how do you create that list?

    • if you go with “most recently watched” there is an issue that simply checking out a new streamer’s past broadcasts will clog that list and remove the meaningful vods you were catching on… here it could help to have a signal, like say, “5 minutes watched” (not skipping) for the vod to enter the list

    • another approach would be to show only one vod per channel.. that would work for me as I typically catch up on a VOD from various channels, and since vods are long anyway.. the scenario of catching up on 2+ different vods from one streamer is less likely

    • AND… on the other hand the scenario where i left a bunch of VODs behind is very likely.. and that means they would continue to clog the list for some time.. this is where the filter “1 most recently watched vod per channel” could work (always hard to say on paper of course)

    Another idea

would be to add a “plus” button of somesort to the player overlay? Without dealing with the complexity of youtube playlists.. you have just one playlist.. so that could solve the things i mentioned above, you could manually “uncheck” those you are no longer interested in making the list more meaningful, so i guess basically a boolean toggle per vod, that is automatically activated if vod is watched for more than x minutes?

I think this would be better than youtube”s “continue watching” which is very arbitrary.

I think the plus button is a good idea. I think it would be cool if this could work as both a “continue watching” and a “watch later”. What I meant is both having vods go to it automatically after you have watched x minutes of it but also being able to add a vod manually by doing a long click on it while you have it selected.
