Bug: Timeline back / forward buttons seem to be registering taps twice

When navigating back and forwards through my daily timeline, taps on the < and > buttons seem to sometimes register twice leading to a two day jump. This is on 3.0.2 running on an iPhone XR with iOS 12.4

I’ve occasionally seen this happen too. Although it’s very hard to reproduce the bug reliably, so I haven’t been able to spot the cause yet. I’ll keep hunting though!

This happens to me a bunch. I also see something related, which might be the same bug:

When I click on the calendar view and go to a date, especially one that has unclassified items, Arc often advances to the next date without any additional interaction.

Yinon, I suspect those two bugs are related. Or at least, that’s my naive assumption.

But because they happen only intermittently, I’ve never been able to catch it in the debugger. And there’s nothing obviously wrong with the code (I’ve looked it over a couple of times, trying to spot this bug). So this is one of those bugs that is going to annoyingly hang around until I have one of those “oooh, there it is!” moments, or it happens to reveal itself while I’ve got the debugger connected 😏

This bug only happens to be on days with a lot of unconfirmed items in the forward direction. After confirming all the items until none are left the bug doesn’t happen anymore

It also doesn’t happen when i go backwards onto dates.

I think it has something to do with the processing of the unconfirmed locations

I recently noticed that on the calendar date picker for the timeline you’ve highlighted (with a grey disk) days with unconfirmed items. I’m not 100% but I think I’ve experienced ending up on an adjacent day (without unconfirmed items) when tapping one of these days with unconfirmed items.

This might be worth you trying to repeat this way of triggering the bug. I’ll see if I can definitely observe it…

Good news, it looks as if this will be fixed in the upcoming 3.13 release!

Oh yes, good point @Bernd! I’ll mark this as completed, given I’ll hopefully be able to submit an update to the App Store today, with this fix included.
