Need this feature so that data can be shared with a doctor

It makes me sad this would be premium. It seems to important to deny people access

    I’d find this really useful!

This is essential for people with chronic illnesses—especially invisible ones like Lupus and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It’s not as easy for a doctor to tell you it’s all in your head if you have data.

This would be really great. At the moment my husband takes the CVS data and manipulates it into a graph, but it’s pretty awkward, and it loses the categories and order I’ve arranged symptoms in (by clusters according to type and severity/frequency). The CVS data is straight up alphabetical, with no categories.

In case anyone’s interested, I made a tool which runs in your browser and generates a page based on the CSV data: https://bearable.samstarling.co.uk

You can then print this page to show to your doctor. It’s fairly basic at the moment, but if you have feature requests (like date filtering) please let me know!

I should say: all the data stays in your browser, and isn’t uploaded anywhere.

Would this allow the export of the insight graphs? Those are the most useful to me, especially during a routine check up. A quick glance at the charts vs having to look thru a spreadsheet

I totally agree with you Daniel. Not sure about reasons others use Bearable app, but I use it as my chronic illness and pain make me extremely forgetful. I have tried many other apps but yours beat them hands down for clean, easy input and quick recording of each segments of the day and night. Great jobs peeps but this would be an invaluable addition

I agree. It’s important information to provide to doctors and should be a feature available to everyone.

Excellent! Does it really need to be Premium though? Or maybe just offer more options to export data in premium but also basis export in free tier pls

Health measurements are easy, but keep in mind that some doctors will not understand the symptom score like it is used in bearable. My doctor understands something like “I had severe headache 5 days last month and mild headache 10 days.” I would need this as clear table for all symptoms. Bonus points for comparison with last month or year.

completely agree. premium features should be those features that are “nice” but not “necessary”

denying someone export features based on not being able to pay seems like denying someone the ability to share this information with doctors, which is where it can be extremely useful for diagnostic purposes.

I happily pay for premium, but i wouldn’t want an important feature like this locked behind a pay wall. So many of us with chronic issues are on a fixed income. I understand you also need money to keep supporting the app. Maybe you could also offer a one time payment of like $1 for PDF export?

This is a bit pie-in-the-sky, maybe, but I think it would be cool for me to be able to gift a random user premium, or a hypothetical pdf export fee or something! Maybe I’ll make my own post for that idea haha

    14 May 2021
  • avatar

I like the subscription gifting idea, you should definitely make a suggestion post for that. Or maybe something like a ko-fi/crowdfunding for the app, so those who can afford it can contribute more to support the developers, and therefore allowing for more features to not require premium? 🤔

This would be a great feature.

There are things that need to be considered. Many people will use this data and presentation to demonstrate symptoms to healthcare professionals, potential to employers to help with adjustments to the working environment, government departments (that administrate some form of benefits system or scheme to help disabled people).

The presentation must be professional but have meaningful information that various people using it can take the information that relevant to them and allow them to use the information that can help people suffering.

for example, a benefits department or local authority/ municipality issuing disable parking badges/tickets will not care about if the symptoms occur in nature or the other factors that are logged. They will want information on the symptoms, average severity level, most common severity level, how often the symptoms occur, how symptoms impacts (negative) on your life.

Healthcare professionals, on the other hand, may need info on factors, but most likely the information logged in its current way is meaningless to healthcare professionals. Again, they will want pain level, how often symptoms occur and the severity, average severity level, how often these symptoms occur etc. furthermore, they will want to know how your life is impacted (positive and negative) by these symptoms.

Would it be possible to please make it possible to export one’s data as a pdf report? I would like to print out all of the lovely charts and correlations to show to my psychiatrist? I would really like it if she could then keep the report in my file for future reference.

    PDF report + sharing features

It would be extremely useful to have a feature that allows other users to see your information by gaining the permission to access the profile. Being able to download or share clear report data in different formats like pdf or similar, would be very helpful for on-going mental health treatments and research/studies.

Please provide multiple options for exporting various types of data- I see multiple specialists and it would be really helpful to be able to customize what data I export (i.e. foods eaten and GI symptoms for GI doc, medications and BP/pulse for cardiologist/renal doc, sleep data and factors for sleep doc, etc.). I love Bearable but right now (even with the paid version) it’s extremely time consuming to manually create reports for my doctors

    06 November 2021
  • avatar

Also it would be awesome to be able to view data on multiple devices or on a web browser so multiple tabs could be open- when I’m gathering data from the app to give to my doctor it takes a really long time to click on insights, select a symptom, write down relevant data, etc. when I’m doing that for all of my symptoms

    06 November 2021

This would be so good for my doctor and psychologist, any idea on how long it will take to be up and running?

any updates on more exporting features?

This is the most important feature. The app is amazing to track new meds & factors, customise your experience and get this level of insights from it, so it’s a shame that you can’t share with your Dr.

    06 December 2022

I meant to say it would be invaluable. (Most important feature is obviously subjective). I was recently diagnosed with ADHD, and am in the process of trying to find the right medication and optimal dosage. So that’s why this is the key feature I’m looking for in an app, to monitor and share progress with my psychiatrist and therapist. (I realise you can share the CSV and add your own charts, but it is not user-friendly and just feels like such an unecessary step.)

Also, really well done on the app and for being so interactive. It is by far the best available, especially in terms of user experience and customisation! I have shown my doctors to recommend to their other patients!!

    06 December 2022

Alternatively, a webb-app with dashboards so you can easily take screenshots/download pdf of multiple charts to share.

This is a fabulous app. But it’s not very useful unless I can share the results with my doctor. I really don’t understand why you can’t.

I’d vote for this a thousand times if I could. Bearable’s export options are sorely lacking compared to other apps. Not only are we missing an ability to export the insights, we also don’t have options to select which data to export to CSV.

My current use case is sharing with my therapist as we determine the factors influencing my mood. Right now, I’m having to take screen shots of the analysis charts and graphs, which is inconvenient, messy, and doesn’t capture the richer insights one sees when tapping into a particular factor or symptom. But the export to CSV provides too much data—my therapist doesn’t need to see my watch’s 2,000 heart rate readings. I’m a data analyst by trade and could create my own dashboard, but that shouldn’t be necessary when I’m paying for a subscription.

Bearable’s in-app insights are the best I’ve found out of multiple tracking apps, but other apps have built out their export and sharing functionality much more. To “show off” their analysis capabilities and stay competitive, it seems like it’d be in Bearable’s interest to implement at least one of the following features: — Export insights to PDF with options to include the deeper analysis for one or more factors or symptoms — Options to select the time period and which factors and symptoms to export as part of the export to CSV process — Ability to invite someone to view insights, ideally with settings for which factors and symptoms they should have access to see. This would essentially be a read-only profile with the ability to be a standalone account or in addition to an active personal Bearable profile (in case they end up loving it so much they want to start tracking their own symptoms!)

This is truly the only need-to-have feature missing from Bearable for me, and for now, I’d be okay with a rough beta version of the easiest feature to implement. Please take the 100+ votes as a sign that this is an important feature to your user base!

If I’d be product owner of this product I’d consider this mandatory from day two of the app.
