I’m not sure how we could get this to look good on the timeline and I’m not sure where you would even add this on the homepage. Perhaps there could be a note option for each category instead, would that help?

I agree of the need for notes of factors. Here’s how I see it.

Factors are just data points in a day. We can assign notes to other data. Factors aren’t any different. However the 4 column user interface is intended for rapid entry.

Suggestions:

• Allow factors to be setup with characteristics:
  • Toggle (current)
  • Rating (like mood)
  • Value (same as a health measurement, but in the scope of factors)
• The user interface as it is can handle all of the above plus note entry.
  • For notes, a long tap to open the note editor
  • For rating, taps advance through the ratings like you have for symptoms
  • For value, a tap opens a value input editor
• Factors really need to be assigned to specific times. For mood, you can do this. So many times I enter a mood just to attach factors. Proposal for Factors UI:
  • Factors can have a characteristic on how you can enter them: The 4 time ranges, time of day, and both.
  • When time of day, just use the [+] box and let the user add boxes. Sure it will interrupt the flow of a columnar section, but its more important to get the data right than make the UI pretty.
  • When “both”, [+] is after the 4 time ranges and starts a new row below.

That would be perfect! Please add this feature! I would love it if there were notes that way I could specify, for example: Under Social I put with friends then I could add in the notes what friends I was with, what we did, how long we were together and that type of thing.
