Change current date by swiping left and right

Adapted from: https://www.reddit.com/r/BearableApp/comments/keowd5/feature_request_swipe_left_and_right_to_navigate/

Moving to yesterday and back is a frequent activity for me. The popup calendar is time consuming to do that, compared to just a swipe left and right.

I’d be happy with it just working when you swipe on the date itself, but if it doesn’t get in the way of other functionality, swipe anywhere in the home page is good.

I would add to this especially for people who accidentally enter info on the wrong days switching back and forth maybe allowing custom color coding the days of the week? So you could cycle through a rainbow for each day or those who have work/school schedules could color the weekend or their off-days a separate color so its easier to tell the difference at a glance without having to scroll back up to the top

I love the colour coding idea 😍 (And yeah, accidentally entering info on the wrong day is one of the several reasons why this would be extremely useful for me =P)

Ease of switching days was something I really appreciated about Clue, and it would be an even bigger time saver in Bearable which has more to scroll through to get back to the top!

i instinctually swipe left and right sometimes trying to change the day i’m on. it would be much more convenient to be able to do this.

I think it’s important to define this as swiping from the edges of the screen, because this almost totally eliminates ambiguous gestures.

I agree with, @withadventure, this is instinctual now because nearly all Apple and third party apps have thoroughly trained iOS users to associate ‘back’ and ‘forward’ with swiping right (from the edge of the screen) and swiping left (from the edge of the screen), respectively.

In this case, back/forward navigation maps nicely onto chronological order of days in the context of the Home page. I find myself doing this almost daily, despite knowing it won’t work.

Lastly, for completeness I think it is important to get UI feedback for what day you land on after swiping, which is definitely the trickiest part!
