Add & sync with astronomical factors

I’d love to see if astronomical factors like solar/lunar eclipse, moon phases, etc can have any effects on my mood :”) . Right now, I’m adding my own manual entries under Weather.

As dubious as I tend to be about things like this, I HAVE been seeing some patterns in myself when it comes to moon phases. Mostly thanks to Sleep As Android making auto-tags for my sleep patterns when there’s a Full Moon or New Moon. I always put in a small summary of my previous day and rate my sleep, and find that there are peculiarities there.

So, even though I didn’t WANT to believe it makes a difference, apparently for some folks, it actually does!

Having this on a graph in Bearable for easier analysis would be potentially useful in that regard. And overlapping with some other suggestions, allowing us to connect our location/weather may also be useful for the app to automatically fill in that lunar phase, as well as general weather for the day (sunny, rain, cold, etc).

Please keep Bearable scientific. The whole idea of QS is to make pattern matching scientific and accurate, not to play into our brain’s already over-active and anecdotally focused pattern-matching apparatus.

not one who typically cares much about astrology and horoscopes, but honestly i have seen a lot of evidence to suggest moon phases impact mood and behavior in people. they impact the tides, why not impact us as well? it wouldn’t be much of a stretch.

as is, you can already look at the calendar view and if you know which day the full moon is and the new moon is, personally i do see correlations. it makes me wonder if my body uses lunar phases as an internal clock as well and if something like that could be impacting my mood. something really interesting to think about.

I definitely think I have experienced poorest sleep hours during full moon cycles. It would be great to track this over time to see if it is a factor or a few off chances.

Yes please this. I have this app for my mental and physical logs but I have to use a journal or my notes to add things like this. Having everything in one spot would boost this app from 90 out of of a 100 to 100/100 real fast in my opinion.

Including moon phase data automatically as an on/off toggle IS scientific … ask any cop, EMT or ER medical person … it may be correlation rather than causation; that doesn’t make it an invalid measure … it’s a continuous coincidence that bears noting … it’s a confounding variable that needs to be tracked automatically in the graphs, in my opinion, so that noticing it before making notes doesn’t skew responses …

Moon cycles would be great! Easy to import without us having to do anything.

moon phases related to women cycles. it could be interesting to see if it impacts mood, strength of the usual symptoms of menstruation (pms and cie)

but for astrology, I’m not sure, it looks a bit far from what Bearable feels like today…

Like that idea of it being an on/off toggle. Maybe it could appear at the top with the dates and mood, just change to a moon symbol next to the emoticon?

For those interested in the astrology aspect perhaps you could add a factor category and just select whatever sign is prominent or in retrograde or something (not familiar with what people would track here).
