Average for individual symptom graphs

Mood and energy level both show average daily values on their graphs. Individual symptoms, however, appear to show the maximum daily value for that symptom. This reduces the fidelity of the data and makes it looks like days are the same when they’re really not.

If a symptom is none all day until the evening, then it’s severe (avg 0.75), that shouldn’t be shown as being the same as a day where that symptom is severe the whole day (avg 3). By either changing the graphs to show average symptom score instead, or at least giving it as an option, better insights could be gained from the data for individual symptoms.

I agree in general, but I think there are some symptoms where I would want to see the min, and even some where I would want to see the max. Here’s an example of each:

    • maximum would be best for rarer symptoms, like headaches or knee pain, where I want to see which days were the worst. • average would be best for symptoms that wane and wax across the course of the day, like bloating or depression. • minimum would be best for “symptoms” that are there by default for me, like difficulty concentrating or emotional dysregulation, and I want to track which days had the most improvement (i.e., the lowest value at any point in the day).

So I think what we really need is a toggle to switch between min, max, and mean on any given graph.
