Neutral symptom icons and colors

It would be helpful if you change symptoms icon to something emotionally neutral. Not an anguished face and not in red. Symptom intensity could also be represented by some color gradient that’s not green to red. Surprisingly, the way it is now is noticably depressing.

Hi Alice! Thank you for your thoughtful suggestion. The last thing we want is for our designs to causing users distress. Do you have a colour scheme you think we should use?

I agree with this! As well as the option to remove the charged words (like “awful”) which I understand are helpful for some people, but probably not for those of us who have severe chronic conditions. It’s depressing and demoralizing to choose “awful” so often, I’ve stopped using the app as it actually makes me worse to do so.

I think having the option to choose a neutral color pallet would work well - something like green, blue, purple. Or just the option to have it be all black.

Can you in that case make this change as an option? I would really hate if the colors and faces that are now would not be possible to use. It would be really hard for me to grade my mood and symptoms without those colors and faces.

I agree with having a neutral/objective symptom logging option in settings for those who may feel triggered or discouraged by the colors, emojis, and words to make the app more accessible to all people.
