Add option to specify how long meds last

Hey there, love the app but I have a suggestion towards the meds and supplements section.

It would be great if we could be able to specify how long different meds last, I think it would make tracking meds effect on mood and symptoms a lot more accurate. Some of my meds last for up to eight hours, while others only last 2-3 hours, and I think if they all get tracked as affecting me for 24 hours, things might get a bit inaccurate.

Thanks!

Hey Noah, thank you for this suggestion. I think this is a great idea.

How would you like to view insights for this?

Maybe there could be a new tab created for insights where we can view all added meds effect on mood and symptom score in a 24 hour cycle, as well as maybe options to view their impact over 7/30/60/90 days as well. It would be nice to have a diagram for it too, similar to the ones for the total symptom score and average mood.

I don’t know how doable this is, but I think it could be helpful. Glad you like the idea!

Agreed! I’ve been looking for something similar. I’m currently testing out new short-term meds (effects lasting an estimated 2-10 hrs), and figuring out how they work was my main reason for getting Bearable.

What I’ve been thinking is that it would be helpful with a 24hr graph depicting average Energy levels, Mood or Symptoms per hour throughout the day (not per time period (am, mid, pm), which is the closest feature I can find in the app now - that is too granular).

It would be interesting both to have this graph by itself, but also to be able to match it up to medications.

I picture being able to choose a specific medication from a dropdown-menu, and the graph then displaying average energy/mood/whatever per hour for each hour after the medication was taken. In additon, it would be nice to filter the data; f.ex selecting that I only want to see the data from days where I take this medication between 7 and 9 am.

Going wild and applying several filters at once would be helpful too - how do my morning meds energy curve look the days after taxing weekends, how does the curve look when I eat little before lunch, or when I have a morning workout? (Requires a fair bit of data - so available filters could be just those with sufficient data logged.)

Other things with short-term effects are also relevant to investigate the same way, for example workouts or coffee. This of course requires these to be tracked with a time stamp, too. Which is doable for the interested user, as anything can be added as a “medication” :)

I think this would be a very useful feature for all users trying to understand their own energy/mood fluctuations throughout the day.

I have ADHD and just need a tickbox for when I feel my stimulant meds kick in. The idea is to determine the extent to which certain foods affect metabolism and efficacy.
