Exist integration

I know a lot of Exist folks are still looking for a Moves replacement. It’d be great if Arc App could use the Exist API to send a daily count of check-ins to Exist, and perhaps your last location too (i.e. provide checkins and maybe location attributes).

    Sounds great! I’m definitely keen.

Because Arc does all of its work directly on the phone, and doesn’t have any server side component, it’d have to be sent from the app itself. Anyway, I’ll have a look over the Exist API and see what I can make happen 😄

For some quick tests, we could throw this into arc-data-server and see how it “feels”

@moritz, that sounds like a good plan! With the rush to get 3.0 ready by the end of the month, I’m probably not going to get a chance to look into this one for a while yet myself.

Unfortunately, I only found Arc recently, but find it a great app which can finally replace Moves. As a huge fan of Exist, I would love to see it integrated directly into Exist, as currently Swarm does a limited job of location tracking, involves a lot of manual work, and doesn’t allow retroactive tracking with correct timestamps.

Arc would allow this and more, but several manual steps would be necessary and an importer would have to be written. All of this could be avoided if Arc used the very stable Exist API directly.

For Arc, this would also be a win, as Arc would almost certainly become the default solution for iOS users for location-tracking who use Exist.
