Insert Visit

Sometimes, Arc does not show my visits, and hides them in movement timeline items.

Creating a Stationary Visit inside these movements is quite tedious:

  1. Enter the segments
  2. Split segment
  3. Find out beginning of visit, with the slider
  4. Confirm the change
  5. Sometimes confirm again and separate from moving segments.
  6. Assign a place to the visit.

I’d like a functionality “Insert Visit” next to “Edit Segments” which helps me select start/end of a visit, and skips steps 2-5.

This is a great idea. It would be easier if it were possible to choose step 3 (find the beginning of the visit) by choosing a spot on the map, rather than by time.

Yes, choosing a spot on the map to add the visit would make things much easier for me. I fall into the category of people who have many short visits each day and entering them through the current method is indeed tedious.

This is the most important feature that helps us use Arc better. If I’m strolling through a city and am on foot most of the day, I would want Arc to pick or let me enter those bits of data I want to see later. If it said walking all day; it is useless for me. I keep doing the dance of breaking segments into these locations and it’s tedious and not the best location tracking idea. I also integrated it with Swarm in the hope that the app picks those markers, but that’s really not the case. We need a way to mark our current location so we can actually review the location timeline later.

This one is possible now in Arc v3.14! It should be live on the App Store tomorrow.
