Zoom to individual segments being edited

When editing individual segments, the map does not zoom in to those particular segments. I frequently find myself having to select a segment then manually zoom in to find it, hoping I’m looking in the right area (because it is often not visible at the zoom level of the entire trip). When splitting a segment, the zoom does sometimes work, but it can be very difficult at times to know where a segment actually is, and a simple zoom upon selection might be a good solution!

The split UI is great in that it automatically zooms into the relevant detail whereas editing a segment does not and is often hard to zoom in sufficiently. A segment is often very small compared to the whole section…

Currently there is a way to more easily see the split mark on the segment by using the nudge buttons, but it is usually too irritating to depend on just this feature, since it takes a long time to find the precise spot you want to have the split happen on.

Ani, what I tend to do for segment splitting is first use the slider itself, to quickly get to a position that I think might be near where I want to split, then switch to the nudge buttons after that.

But for just changing the type of a segment in the Segment Edit view, rather than segment splitting in the Split Segment view, I do find the current lack of zooming to the segment to be a problem.
