No Swedish miles

I am in Sweden and for some reason everything is measured in the very useless “smi” measurement. Swedish miles are commonly in conversation, but no sane person uses them to measure distances on a phone. We use kilometers. With 10KM being one Swedish mile, the unit makes it entirely impossible to track normal walks in the app. Please allow us the choose units out at least default to kilometers.

    Hi! This is an annoying side effect of using iOS’s built in distances displaying system. It makes some really weird choices sometimes, that no one in the real world would ever choose.

    It’s supposed to be picking the best units based on your phone’s region settings. But … Apple sometimes are really bad at localisation like that.

    Aside: Apple really need to establish development offices around the world. Having them all shut away in their spaceship in San Francisco seems to isolate them from some of these mistakes.

    Anyway, I’m planning on replacing the use of iOS’s built in distance displaying system with … well, something that doesn’t suck. Hopefully the doesn’t mean having to build something entirely from scratch 😬
