Unfortunately the current API is the wrong direction. It allows apps to use the same suggestions view that the Journal app uses, but it doesn’t allow apps to add their own suggestions, which is where the real value would be.

So basically it’s a way for existing journaling apps to make use of iOS / Journal app’s suggestions, but not a way for third party apps to provide their own suggestions.

The kinds of objects/events that the suggestions view provides are things that Arc already has - photos, videos, workouts, songs. So it doesn’t currently offer any extra value.

Hopefully Apple will add more to the API in iOS 18!
