How do I contact support?

If you need help with a team's product, you'll need to contact them directly. Head back to their map and click the link to go to their website.

If you need us to help you with Changemap, go to your account's support page and complete the form to send us an email.

How do I export my account data?

You can export your personal data at any time from your account page. This will email you a set of JSON files containing your tasks, comments, and votes. Go to your account page and click the "Export account" button, then follow the steps to request your email.

How do I close my account?

If you don't want to have an account on Changemap any more, you can delete it. Go to your account page and in the Profile section click the link titled "Delete your account". Complete the form and your account will be entirely deleted. Any suggestions, tasks, or comments you've made will remain, but they won't have your name attached.

Do users have to create accounts to use Changemap?

Maps on Changemap are public, so anybody can visit, search, and read tasks on your map without an account.

In order to suggest tasks, comment, or vote on a task, users must create an account. Rather than asking users to make and remember a password, we require only an email address and ask the user to log in with a link sent via email. Alternatively users can log in with their Google account.

I'm not getting login emails, what do I do?

If you've logged in with your email address, don't have a password attached to your account, and you haven't received an email with a login link within a few minutes, there's probably been an issue sending that email to you! We're sorry.

Here are a few potential causes:

  • You've previously marked emails from Changemap as spam before, so new emails won't get delivered.
  • There's a temporary delay in email delivery on your email provider, meaning the email might take longer to get to you (potentially many hours).
  • You're using a disposable email service that's been blocked as spam.

In these cases, you could try to log in again in a little while, or try making a Changemap account with a different address. When you're logged in, you can always add a password to your account from your account page, so you don't have to wait for email login links in future.

How do I unsubscribe from update emails?

If you've ever subscribed to updates about a task, you'll get an email each day that it has new activity — this might be new comments or it being marked as completed, for example.

If you don't want to receive updates about a particular task, you can go to the task on Changemap (by clicking the link in the email if you like), and click the "Subscribed" button under the task description, removing your subscription.

If you want to unsubscribe from all updates for any tasks on Changemap, you can edit your profile and untick the box for "Receive daily update emails". Note that once this is done, any new tasks you subscribe to won't notify you of their updates until you go back and tick this box again.
