This may be a bit of a subset of adding SOR risk as described elsewhere, but one handy feature that Empower and at least one of the professional CFP packages has is the ability to quickly drop in a recession at any year of the plan without having to manually model out each year in the returns interface or rely on the sequence of historical data. I’d like, for example, to be able to see what the impact would be if a 2008-like event happened in the first year of retirement - or the 10th – or the 20th – of two of those — you get the idea. While I can manually create that using the advanced tab today, it is tedious and doesn’t carry across plans. It would be great to have a whole set of historical events to choose from, as well as a few generic bear market presets.
