Aha, so actually the sync service is separate from an API, which they’ve planned to add later. So this one is currently not possible, sorry.

how about the new Day One 2 app, released yesterday? Does that change things?

@dannyledesma Looking at the http://dayoneapp.com/2016/01/introducing-day-one-2/ blog post, there is not any clear mention about 3rd party API access to the data.

Day One 2.1 update will also include ‘private-key encryption’ that might make such integration even more difficult to create.

It is probably best to request the API feature directly from the developers of Day One itself, as they control their own roadmap.

Right, as I mentioned the new sync service and new app doesn’t change anything, and there’s still no open API unfortunately.
