I still want this one. It has a sync, and tasks can be emailed into it. Also I can make a script where I can raw upload data into Exist, and make an automation for it through the Apple Script. It’s fairly simple, but would require hack work on the users end. And being that most of the Omnifocus people are heavy geeks, don’t see any roadblocks to this.

Would love this too. Just switched from Todoist to Omnifocus

Agreed. This would be very helpful.

Could this be done by url-scripting on iOS? I.e. click “import OF” and it opens OmniFocus and reads necessary data?

Damn! First thing I wanted to add is Omni Focus.

If you have to, get in contact with OmniGroup. I’ve decided not to use Exist because of this

    Hi Mikk,

You’re welcome to get in touch with OmniGroup and ask them to provide an API, but until they build and release an API there’s nothing we can do about this integration. Getting in touch with them won’t help us integrate their product—they need to build an option for that first.

One of our users shared a project they built to report OmniFocus tasks completed from their computer directly to Exist that you might find useful. You’ll need an Exist account to find this in our user forum, and you would need to run the project yourself rather than having Exist update that data for you as we do with all our integrations, but it is an option if this data is very important to you.

Believe Omnifocus 3 (webversion at least) has API hosts. Have you guys revisited this?

Can you point me to any documentation on this? I’ve had a look but can’t see anything about an API.

It’s possible to access OmniFocus data via a local agent, or an Automation. It’s not like Apple Health has a web-facing API either, so it’s weird that this is marked as “not possible”, when it’s possible via at least 3 mechanisms (iOS shortcuts, a Mac app with AppleScript (or ScriptingBridge) integration, or OmniAutomation javascript)

Apple Health is possible for us as we have an iOS app already. If there’s Shortcuts support on iOS then you can use that already without needing anything more :)

I mean, sure, I could also write my own integration with https://developer.exist.io too, but I thought the point of this forum is to request native support from the product? :)

Sure, and the situation for us is that currently we don’t have the scope to develop and support a native MacOS app to sync with OmniFocus :)

Fair enough. I suppose with only 15 votes here you have more important stuff to attend to! Thanks for the replies.
