Categorize events by name in calendar

My Google Calendar events all have meaningful names - such as “Run”, “Meeting”, or “Reading”. It would be really useful to be able to see statistics correlating things like “on days you have events named Reading, you’re happier”.

If this would be hard to implement, I think an easy solution would be to just use the existing “custom tags” feature and automatically create a custom tag feature with the name of each event I have. Then, Exist would know which days I have a “Meeting”, “Reading”, or “Biology Lecture”. This would be extremely useful for me, because then the product would actually understand how I’m spending my time.

Thanks!

Not everyone has a set of recurring events with the same names so I can see this getting very messy if it was on by default. However, I won’t rule it out as something users could opt-in to.

Another option in the meantime is to use our API to add your event names as tags yourself 🙂

Yep, I agree this makes sense as an opt-in feature.

Oh cool, I’ll look at that - thanks!

I don’t use Google Calendar, but if I could add a tag to “Event Duration” to indicate which event it was (I have a couple new ones), that would be helpful. Right now I just added a custom tag, and I’m mentioning the events in the notes as well. I just wish for a direct link.
