Google Fit now allows native heart rate readings on Pixel 3+, using the phone’s flashlight. I’d like to see this added as well.

Unfortunately Google is locking down almost all Google Fit data and adding barriers we can’t get around, so we won’t be able to add this data from Google Fit.
