Some deductions, like the ACA deduction are only applicable to self-employment income. But in general, having the option of marking a Tax Deduction item, or Expense (that is marked deductible), as deductible only from self-employment income would be rather useful. These deductions would also bypass the need to itemize, so you wouldn’t want them to be lumped in with general deductions.
